Hester (she/her) is a Director/Choreographer who specializes in musical theatre and in highly physical productions of Shakespeare. She loves doing opulent productions with enormous casts and lots of music and movement and enjoys working with professional actors, symphony orchestras, students, and a combination of all three. Hester was the first person to graduate with a double degree in Drama and Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University and went on to study with Jacques Lecoq in Paris, where she lived on bread for seven years in a series of poorly-heated and astonishingly small apartments. Her sense of adventure, passion for theatre, and strong sense of justice have taken her around the world and landed her in endless hot water. She is an extreme reader, a wild poet, and a mediocre but overconfident cook. The most sacred parts of her life are her extraordinary friends, her time learning Alvin Ailey style dance, and the five years of Sundays she spent as a volunteer at Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Naples, Florida, learning to work with wolves and big cats.
